POPULAR horseman Ryan Hryhorec is certainly riding the crest of a wave.

From four meetings between last Friday and yesterday, Hryhorec has trained or driven 10 winners across two states.

Beginning with a training-driving double at Globe Derby on the Friday, Hryhorec returned the same venue the following night where he made three trips to the winners’ circle.

Scoring as the trainer-driver of Aldebaran Ten and Lily Thesinger, Hryhorec also combined with astute horseman Barry Preston to win with Down Under Rors.

A promising trotter, Down Under Rors upstaged his older rivals by leading throughout the Maori’s Idol Plate.

Leading Victorian concession reinsman Zac Phillips then handled the reins behind the Hryhorec-prepared Carlas Heaven and Poppy Had Courage for a double at Mildura on Sunday night.

Heading back to Globe Derby yesterday, Hryhorec was triumphant with Tezz Khora for the Jeremy Seal stable, Ton Tine for trainer Luke O’Neill and Miasblaze, which he prepares.

“This weekend and month have been unbelievable,” Hryhorec said. “The strike rate has been fantastic and it’ll be great if that can keep up a little longer.”

With a team of 25 in work, Hryhorec credits his new surroundings as the catalyst for his stable’s impressive form.

“I’ve been in the new place for three months now and everything it starting to come together,” Hryhorec said. “The horses have really settled in and enjoying the large yards and it’s all going smoothly.

“I’ve also got an uphill track between the 300 and top straight, which is really helping out the team.”
