Once again, the Albion Park Harness Racing Club will play host to a strong ten race program this Saturday night.

The card of racing features plenty of in-form and talented types that are starting to focus on the upcoming Brisbane winter carnival features.

The opening race has attracted an even field of 12 pacers with several in-form runners set to contest the UBET Pace over the distance of 2138m.

In what shapes as an extremely open affair, punters will find value but the query runner is the New Zealand bred but Sydney trained Chantrey.

Prepared by Queensland born horseman but now Menangle based Shane Sanderson, the Gotta Go Cullen gelding finds himself facing a massive class drop on his recent efforts.

Chantrey has been contesting the ‘Carnival of Cups’ series throughout New South Wales which netted a victory in the Gr.3 $30,000 Wagga Cup five starts ago while his past three starts have come against the most in-form horse in the state in Tiger Tara.

At his most recent start in the Gr.3 $30,000 Sydney Cup at Bankstown eight days ago, Chantrey took third placing behind Tiger Tara and Spare Me Days.

Concession reinsman Brendan Barnes is booked to drive.

Others to consider include Leighmont, Monarkmac, Lancelot Bromac, Simply Gorgeous, Montcalm, Major Deed and Only The Brave.

The $15,540 Kevin & Kay Seymour Rising Stars Championship also looks an open affair following the barrier draw.

Heat winners on Tuesday were the Grant Dixon prepared duo of Frankie Rocks and Leos Best but both will face strong opposition from a number of runners.

The Rising Stars Finals is listed as race 4 on the card.

Another highlight is the BOTRA Charity Race Day May 14th Open Pace over 1660m which features the return to racing of triple Queensland Horse of the Year Avonnova who takes on former star New Zealand pacer Hughie Green.

Gambling giant UBET are offering several jackpots throughout the program including a guaranteed $50,000 trifecta pool on the opening race plus a $10,000 jackpot.

A guaranteed Quadrella of $20,000 is also slated; the quaddie will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5.

UBET have also slated $2000 jackpot trifecta pools on races 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7.
