Ladbrokes Australian Pacing Gold graduate claims American Group One

AUSTRALIAN-BRED mare Mackenzie proved too strong for her opposition in last night’s $310,000 Matchmaker Final at Yonkers Raceway.

Driven by Jordan Stratton, the four-year-old was eased away from barrier four as Lispatty led from the pylons.

With Mach it a Par was seemingly in control after finding the front to the three-quarters in 1:23.4, Mackenzie was forced wide leaving the back stretch.

Bursting away from the field upon straightening, Mackenzie cruised to a three-length triumph from Medusa, with Diva’s Image a length away third.

A 2014 Australian Pacing Gold purchase, Mackenzie is by Rock N Roll Heaven from Kept For Pleasure, making her a half-sister to multiple Group One winner Vincent.

Owned by Harry von Knoblauch and his daughter, Ellen Kinser, Mackenzie stopped the clock in a 1:53.1
