WAGGA Harness Racing Club and the Cancer Council have teamed up for a great cause with proceeds from the Easter Sunday meeting helping to purchase a new Transport To Treatment vehicle.

Dougal Bear from the Cancer Council will be on track for the children and there will also be an Easter egg giveaway as well as a jumping castle in operation.

The Wagga HRC intends to grow the Easter Sunday meeting, which has attracted strong fields for the afternoon meeting.

Breakfast announcer Ashleigh Blucher will sing for the Cancer Council in Wagga Takes Two next week and said any money raised for the Cancer Council would help her ultimate goal.

“I chose to raise money for the Cancer Council because of the great work they do, not just in the Riverina, but all over Australia,” Blucher said.

“This year our goal was to raise enough money for a new Transport To Treatment vehicle to service the Riverina, helping patients in outlying rural areas get to their treatments.”

Admission will be at the reduced price of $5.

It will give you plenty of value for money with a bumper 11 race card.

The first race is at 12.15pm and will pay honour to recently retired mare Frith.

The last is the Easter Cup at 5.50pm with two Menangle Country Series heats the feature.
