Petacular’s run of poor Group 1 barrier draws has continued, the star filly to start out of gate 13 in Friday night’s $150,000 Nevele R Stud Victoria Oaks Final at Tabcorp Park Melton.

Petacular boasts 12 wins from 17 races for $279,403 in stakemoney but has pulled gate 14 (extreme outside) in the New South Wales Oaks Final, where she ran second, and gate 13 (extreme outside) in the two-year-old Breeders Crown Final at Melton last season, where she also ran second.

Petacular, for trainer-driver Michael Stanley, won her Oaks heat last Friday night at Melton defeating Miss Graceland, who has also drawn poorly in gate seven for the final.

The other Oaks heat winner, Shezallapples, drew well in barrier two.
