Along the sprint lane go John Caldow and Milly Perez to win the Jodie's Babe at Melton.

Driver John Caldow was the talk of the tweet on Friday night after his last-to-first win at Tabcorp Park Melton on Milly Perez in the Allied Exress Transport Jodie's Babe (Group 3) over 1720m.

Caldow drew the applause of fans on social media with most happy to call the Drive of the Night award early.

Post-race Caldow explained his decision to zip through the field along the pegs where the six-year-old from the Larry Eastman camp notched a head win over Gina Grace in 1:53.3.

"To be fair I was keen to go wide but by the time the 400m came it just wasn't working out," Caldow said.

"Then I went back to the inside and through the middle and it was to this mare's credit really. She's just a great mare and that's how she got home so well. I was a long way off them and to be fair I was keen to go wide."

Hear from John and all the winning drivers in this week's edition of ALL CLEAR!
