You might have come to believe that there aren’t many top sires in Australia and New Zealand. Think again.

  • Of the top 20 2 and 3yos currently in Australia, the fastest is by Tintin In America, with Sportswriter and WA sire Advance Attack producing two of the fastest performers so far on a half mile track
  • More than 50% of the sires in the Perth APG Sale that have crops older than 2yos have Group winners, and many of these have produced Group 1 winners
  • There were 5 individual Group 1 winners in 2016 from the 2015 WA Yearling Sale, all by different sires including a WA based sire
  • Australia’s leading two race horses in Smolda and Hectorjayjay, and most of the Inter Dominion runners, are representative of a large group of Australian based class horses that are by sires that are affordable, and their yearlings are affordable
  • Last year’s new sires in Auckland Reactor and Betterthancheddar are already represented on the top 20 open 2yo Sires list
  • This year’s first season Australian bred sires were all top racehorses and Group 1 winners, and the US first season sires were world champions
  • Nearly all the sires represented in the top 20 2 and 3yos currently in Australia are represented in the Perth Sale.

The WA APG Perth Sale, at Belmont this Sunday, will offer plenty of affordable yearlings that any harness enthusiast and their friends or family would be proud to own. The yearlings in this Sale will have excellent opportunities in WA to capture a Group 1 race and can also be eligible for the $1 million APG national race series. Many are also eligible for Breeders Crown events and Bathurst Gold Crown.

ALL yearlings in the WA Sale are Westbred and therefore ALL are eligible for Westbred Bonus payments under the Scheme without any additional payment.

There are first season sires, first time mares, full and half relations to some very good horses. You wont need to spend an Australian record price to buy your yearling – the Sale will provide Group 1 winners and affordable horses that will give you the same excitement of winning.

Get a group together and get involved – don’t miss the Perth APG Yearling Sale this Sunday starting 1pm WA time (4pm in NSW and Victoria). Register at www.apgold.com.au for telephone or online bidding if you cant be there!. It’s really easy to get into harness racing!
