TONIGHT’s trip to Melton is part of a learning curb for promising filly Rockinfeelgood.

Scoring upon debut at Leeton at fortnight ago, Rockinfeelgood is engaged in the Two-Year-Old Classic where she has drawn the second row for trainer Wayne Sullivan.

Confident Rockinfeelgood will play a role in the finish despite the early obstacle, Sullivan is using the feature as an experience building exercise ahead of the youngster’s first major mission – the Ladbrokes Australian Pacing Gold series.

“The Australian Pacing Gold is on down there, so the travel experience will do her good as we work towards that series,” Sullivan said. “She is learning each time I put her around the training track and this will be another part of her education.

“She is well-mannered and nothing bothers her, so I can’t see the trip being a problem.”

“The draw is a bit disappointing, but the one to beat is out the back too, so it evens things up a bit.”

Citing Amelias Courage as the main danger, Sullivan believes each runner could surprise under the right conditions.

“Amelias Courage has been impressive in her three starts and is clearly the measuring stick at this stage,” Sullivan said. “But anything can happen with two-year-olds as most of them have only had one start, like my filly, and are still learning.”

By Inter Dominion winner Mr Feelgood, Rockinfeelgood comes from a strong female line, which includes feature race winners Sassy Sarah, Sassy Gina and Born Again Sassy

Rockinfeelgood is a Sydney APG purchase, with our 2017 Ladbrokes Yearling Sale at the Newmarket Sales complex, at Young Street in Randwick, on Sunday.
