Following detailed analysis of the Prizemoney Distribution Survey completed late last year, a change in prizemoney distributions will be introduced effective April 1 to allow prizemoney payments in all TAB races back to fifth place.

From 231 unique survey responses:

  • 28% support the current prizemoney distributions (back to 4th place) (1)

  • 41% support a prizemoney distribution which pays back to 5th place (2)

  • 26% support a larger $100 float rebate (3)

  • 5% suggested an alternative (4)

Strong support was received for the continuation of a float rebate payment with 68% of respondents in favor of continuing the $50 float rebate.

75% of respondents were in favor of continuing the current method of paying the float rebate payment to trainers and as such no changes will be made to the current method of paying the float rebate to the trainer.
