HRSA Stewards conducted an inquiry into a report received from Racing Analytical Services Ltd that dexamethasone was detected in a urine sample taken from PROMINENT ART following its win in Race 1, Jubilee Room New Menu Pace at Globe Derby on 5ecember 2016.
Ms Carbone gave evidence of her treatment regime for PROMINENT ART which was recorded in her Log Book of treatment.
Ms Carbone pleaded guilty to a charge under Rules 190(1), (2) and 4) of presenting PROMINENT ART to race not free of a prohibited substance.
In considering penalty, stewards took into account:
· Ms Carbone’s guilty plea
· Ms Carbone’s short licence history
· the level of dexamethasone detected
Ms Carbone was disqualified for 8 months backdated to 1 February 2017, the date she was stood down. Under Rule 15(1)(ad) Ms Carbone was ordered to pay $1500 to HRSA to cover the cost of analytical testing.
Under Rule 195, Stewards disqualified PROMINENT ART from its first placing in the abovementioned race.
