There are strong Western Australian breeding links with the two youngsters being offered by White Star Lodge, Two Wells at the 2017 Harnessbred.com South Australian Yearling Sale this Sunday.

The yearlings are being prepared from the birthplace of former SA cult hero Come On Frank by Shane Loone and his partner, Maria Petricevich, a member of a well-known WA harness family.

Lot 25, a good looking son of the WA Derby winner Alta Christiano, and one of his first crop, is out of the Badlands Hanover mare Nowuseemestar, a daughter of the WA Champagne Classic winner Nowuseemenowudont ($116,931).

At the stud Nowuseemenowudont has left four foals of racing age for three winners including the WA Race for the Roses and Country Oaks winner Nowuseeme ($287,234), by Christian Cullen, the sire of Alta Christiano.

“He’s got the Christian Cullen look about him,” Loone said.

The White Star Lodge draft also includes a filly by last year’s leading first-season sire Roll With Joe from the Village Jasper mare Priscilla Presley, a half-sister to the thrice WA Pacing Cup winner and million dollar earner The Falcon Strike.

Lot 15 ranks as a half-sister to four winners including Kaiden James (Gloucester Park), Nediak ($68,632) and Nitro Lad ($54,280).

Both yearlings are eligible for the Southern Cross, Vicbred and the SA Sales Classic.
