The Port Pirie HRC are extremely excited to announce that they have secured the highly respected speaker and harness racing identity, Dean Baring.  Dean is the driving force behind the immensely successful and totally independent harness racing site www.harnessbred.com.au and the breeder’s bible, Testmating, the breeding program that all the major studs subscribe to and make available to their clients.

Dean, will make himself available at Phoenix Park,  Port Pirie SA on Friday 10th of February, (just before the first race and for the remainder of the night) so all racing participants can discuss trends, successful patterns, myths and the common mistakes made by breeders and by people investing in yearlings from our yearling sales for around Australia.

For those who are unaware, Dean, along with APG general manager David Boydell, are the master minds behind the new APG yearling sales online guide and the industry smash hit APG TV. This is not the first time Port Pirie HRC club, along with the man behind www.harnessbred.com.au, have worked together  on new initiatives to help drive the sport of harness racing in a better direction.  The club hope it’s not the last collaboration between the two parties.

When contacted today about this announcement, Jacqui Hall, the President of the Port Pirie Harness Racing Club said she was delighted that organisations like Harnessbred.com.au continue to support and show a strong interest in harness racing in regional areas like Port Pirie.

Testmating’s breeding program generates about 150,000 pedigrees a year from Australia and New Zealand and has the most complete data base in the world.  Pedigrees and results go back to the 1600’s for Standardbreds and it’s this centralisation of all information that Dean has offered to share in part with the people at Port Pirie.

Dean will be available to provide the latest results and information on pedigrees of all twenty-six yearlings in the Harnessbred SA 2017 yearling sales.  When contacted today he stated “I am so looking forward to catching up with all of the interested parties associated with this event.  It’s clear that this club is committed to helping its participants and members to achieve the best return on their investment of time and resources in this great sport we love”.
