On 9 July 2016, QRIC Stewards interviewed driver Adam Sanderson regarding his presence in the betting area at Albion Park during the conduct of that meeting. Mr Sanderson was witnessed talking to a person in the vicinity of the bookmaker’s stand operated by licensed bookmaker Hayden Flynn. Evidence was tendered to Stewards that the person conversing with Mr Sanderson was not a bookmaker or bookmaker’s clerk. Mr Sanderson was reminded of his obligations under Australian Harness Racing (AHR) Rule 173(2) which precludes a driver from entering a betting area sixty minutes prior to driving engagements and until the completion of such engagements. A further review of betting transactions failed to reveal any anomalies.
