introduced as a qualifier into the $200,000 Qantas-sponsored Chariots of Fire
the premier four-year-old harness race in Australasia.
Both first and second placegetters
of the sprint will be automatically included in the eight-horse Qantas Chariots
of Fire field on January 28.

Friday nights eight horse field, including two emergencies,
is made up of talent from across the eastern states of Australia.
Representing New South Wales with strong contention
is recent Mount Eden 4-Y-0 Championship winner Karloo
Mick, while other locals in the event include All Hotted
Up, Outa Neutral, Motu
Surprise Gift and Imperial Stride (emerg),.
Slipnslide,
Romeos Legend and Mister Martini (emerg) fly the flag
for their Queensland connections, while Penny Veejay and Zaneden make up the
numbers from Victoria.
A further two invitations will go on the line at
Harold Park next Friday night on January 21 with the $20,000 Paleface Adios
Sprint, also to be run under the same distance and conditions while the
remaining four Chariots of Fire invitations will be announced either before or
after the event is run at the Clubs discretion.
The Club would like to see all other candidates
nominating for the Paleface Adios Sprint next week, NSW Chief Executive
Dumesny said.
Horses making the trip to Sydney, even if they dont get a run in the
Paleface Adios Sprint, may have an advantage in consideration to the other four
invitations on the line to those which dont race at Harold Park.
Blue Gum Forest
proved that theory in last years SEW Eurodrive
Miracle Mile. While the Lithgow pacer failed to gain a run in the Cordina Sprint, one of the lead-up Mile features, Blue Gum
Forest received an
invitation from Directors after an impressive win in another event on the
Sprint night.
