THE prizemoney split for all claiming races across New South Wales is set to change in the new season.

Mirroring the same stakes distribution as trotting races in the state, as of September 1 the prizemoney split for claiming races will be 50 per cent to the winner and so on (see table below).

The Harness Racing New South Wales Board adopted this recommendation following consultation with the Harness Racing Industry Consultation Group (HRICG).

Harness Racing NSW chief executive officer John Dumesny said the following: “After receiving a petition from owners of horses competing in claiming races, which was endorsed by the HRICG, the Board had no hesitation in confirming the proposal to convert the prizemoney split.”
