Haras des Trotteurs Australasia has announced the appointment of Michael Taylor to the role of Semen Controller/Office Manager.

Taylor has a long association with the sport as a trotting owner-breeder, devotee and is an experienced stud sales/administrator. He is also the owner of an established travel business.

Also joining Haras des Trotteurs is Geoff Barnes, who brings a wealth of experience to the team. He and his wife Lorraine are well known to the industry for their chilled semen transportation business throughout Australasia. Geoff is also well-known for his passion for the trotting gait.

Dave Sanders continues to act as the company’s New Zealand representative and will also serve as the company’s pedigree consultant for Australasia. Sanders is a lifelong fan of horse racing, taking a particular interest in the breeding and pedigrees of trotters. He has a 30 year-plus career as a sports and racing journalist.

Well-known Victorian trots identity Peter Dow will continue to bring his intimate knowledge of the Australian scene to the Haras Des Trotteurs sales team.

NSW harness breeding enthusiast Jo Andersen, a former president of Harness Breeders NSW, also remains on the Haras des Trotteurs sales team but will also assume new responsibilities as Horse Sales/Shares/Rehoming manager. Few people are aware that Andersen is extremely active in facilitating the rehoming of standardbreds. Andersen has assisted with rehoming dozens of horses giving up her own time and expense. She has a passion for this cause and good working relationships with rehoming assocs in NSW & other states. This relationship that will be strengthened with the expansion of her role.

World leading trotting sire Love You will be available for the first time to a limited book for an introductory price of $8800 (incl GST) in Australia. In New Zealand, Love You has already produced stars such as Monbet, Habibti and new 2yo sensation Enghien.

Similarly, French rising star sire Sam Bourbon will also be available for the first time in Australia at the special introductory price of $3850 (incl GST). Sam Bourbon introduces the great Goetmals Wood bloodline, sire of My Tribeca, to Australia for the first time.

Quaker Jet, Love You’s champion son, will once again be available at $5500 (incl GST) in Australia with fellow leading French sires, Orlando Vici & The Best Madrik for $7700 & $4950 (incl GST) respectively.

Group II winning, resident stallion Used To Me will also be available in chilled form to Australian breeders for $2750 (incl GST). Used To Me gave Australian trotting fans a glimpse of his talent & flashy looks in winning his only 2 Australian starts before taking up stud duties.

In a new initiative for current members of the Victorian Square Trotters Association, Haras des Trotteurs is offering a $500 discount off the service fees for the following sires: Sam Bourbon, The Best Madrik and Used To Me.
