The HRV Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board today heard a matter with respect to a charge issued by HRV Stewards against licensed New South Wales trainer Mr Daniel Neagoe under Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 190 (1) which provides:

A horse shall be presented for a race free of prohibited substances

The charge relates to an allegation that the horse Hot Shot Woman was presented to race at Tabcorp Park Melton on 30 August 2015 by Mr Neagoe whilst not free of the prohibited substances amphetamine, hydroxyamphetamine, methamphetamine and hydroxymethamphetamine.  Mr Neagoe pleaded not guilty in relation to this matter and the Rad Board subsequently considered evidence from Mr Stephen Svanosio (HRV Investigative Steward), Dr Cate Steel (Veterinarian) and Professor Edward Whittem (Registered Specialist – Veterinary Pharmacology) on behalf of the HRV Stewards along with evidence from Dr Andrew Clarke (Veterinarian) on behalf of Mr Neagoe.  The HRV RAD Board adjourned the matter to enable the legal representative for Mr Neagoe and the representative for the HRV Stewards to make written submissions regarding the case.

The HRV RAD Board will deliver its decision at the conclusion of their consideration of all of the evidence including the written submissions to be provided by the parties.
