Mooroopna Harness Racing Club is offering a float in a trainers' draw.

The stakes will be considerable for trainers who enter a runner at Shepparton on June 12, when all things Mooroopna will be celebrated.

The Lift ‘N’ Shift Mooroopna Pacing Cup will feature at Quest Racing Complex on the Queen’s Birthday weekend, when the Mooroopna club will build on more than 100 years of supporting trainers and owners by offering $14,000 worth of prizes, including a horse float.

Mooroopna Harness Racing Club secretary Shane Martin said the prize pool reiterated the club’s support for participants.

“We are a grass roots club and are eager to support drivers and trainers,” Martin said.

“It’s a successful meeting and we want to get people out there. We are only a little country club, but we are still going strong.”

To win the float trainers will need to have a race starter at the meeting, with each trainer getting a ticket into the draw. Other trainers’ draws will include a set of hopples and a $500 John Deere voucher.

Throw in retired pacing superstar Smoken Up leading out the cup field and a snow machine to keep children entertained and a night full of winners appears assured.
