Ricky Duggan at Horsham trots.
Ricky Duggan proved the pride of Tassie at Horsham on Monday in the annual Noel Smith Memorial Drivers Invitation Championship.
Duggan drove two winners in the four-race series to capture 30 points and the title, three points ahead of runner-up Robert Morris (New South Wales) on 27, with Greg Sugars third on 25.
“It was a really good day. It’s great to catch up with all those guys and drive against them,” Duggan said.
“I know Gavin and Chris pretty well. My son Josh works with Chris and loves it there. They’re fantastic people.
“The Horsham club also does a great job on the day. To get a driver from every state and New Zealand is a real credit to them.”
Duggan drove Hit Maka and Glenferrie Bunter to victory, both talented four-year-olds trained by Ryan Hryhorec.
