With the Summer Of Glory fast approaching, several horses are already staking their claims for the two-night spectacular.

It Is Billy claimed the Geelong Cup on his way to a Hunter Cup target while Lazarus showed why he’ll likely start favourite in the Victoria Derby with his Alexandra Park success.

It’s more than in just this way that the Summer Of Glory has already taken off however with the colours from the double seater sulky charity race at the official launch being worn by their competitors.

Kerryn Manning will adorn the yellow Summer Of Glory silks until Hunter Cup night with Nathan Jack in the blue set, Greg Sugars carrying the green and Kate Gath in the purple.

Inter Dominion winning driver Chris Alford will debut a special set of yellow and blue silks in the coming weeks too in the lead up to February 6.

The initiative comes off the back of last year’s inaugural Summer Of Glory which brought together the Victoria and Hunter Cups to be run week on week for the first time in over a decade.

It was a memorable carnival too with Christen Me claiming the Victoria Cup and Arden Rooney blowing his rivals away in the Hunter Cup.
