Victorians tipped to dominate heats again

Philadelphia Man was superb winning his first Inter Dominion heat but is $3 second-favourite for heat six tomorrow night at Bunbury behind $1.65 shot and fellow ID heat night one winner Devendra.

Philadelphia Man opened $3.8 for the sixth heat but has tumbled in, while Devendra has eased from $1.55.

Philadelphia Man, trained by Emma Stewart and driven by Gavin Lang, has the trailing draw (barrier eight) over a mile, following out Dynamite Dude, with Adam Kelly-trained Five Star Anvil drawn to his outside on the second row.

If he gets a crack at them at any stage, Philadelphia Man’s the horse to beat says HRV Good Form’s Jason Bonnington.

“I know Lennytheshark stole the headlines on night one and that’s to be expected, but Philadelphia Man was every bit as good if not better and should only be improved by the hit-out,” Bonnington said.

“What we saw on Friday night is that class will get you everywhere in this series and even if Gavin (Lang) has to drop out early on, Bunbury will suit and he should be too good.”

Inter Dom heat four sees Geoff Webster-trained Franco Ledger get his chance from gate one for reinsman Anthony Butt.

The Hunter Cup runner-up ran on fairly in his opening heat but would need to improve. Gate one and the likelihood of a box seat trip should see him get his chance.

Franco Ledger is $4.5 with TAB.com.au, equal on the second line with My Hard Copy. Mach Beauty is the $2.2 favourite from barrier three.

The fifth heat looks a one-act affair if you believe the bookies, with Lennytheshark – so dominant winning his first heat – a $1.30 favourite for David Aiken and Chris Alford.
