HRV - Horse Gear Notifications

24 November 2015
Logo

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards issue this notice for the awareness of Trainers in the Victorian Harness Racing Industry.

Trainers intending to change the declared gear for a horse are required to have gear changes submitted via Harnessweb or the HRV Racing Office by driver notification time for a given race meeting. Driver notification times for Victorian Harness Racing meetings can be located at:

http://www.hrv.org.au/racing/harness-racer-programs-pdf/

Trainers intending to change the declared gear for a horse AFTER the driver notification time are required to contact the HRV Stewards prior to such racing engagement. It is important to note that the notification time for gear changes will still be adhered to, however Stewards may still accept such late notifications, provided the reasons given by the trainer are deemed to be legitimate.

To also assist Trainers, a document which contains the declared gear for each horse competing at a given race meeting will be located in the numbers room. Stewards will continue to monitor the gear in which horses are presented to race in and penalties for non-compliance will continue to be imposed (Caution for a first offence and $100 fine for a further offence within a 28 day period).

Any queries regarding this requirement or the information contained please contact the HRV Stewards Department on 8378 0200 or email info@hrv.org.au
