The barrier draw for Sunday?s $100,000 Mallia Builders Kilmore Pacing Cup has presented Gavin Lang with the perfect opportunity to join the late Vin Knight as the event?s most successful reinsman.

?

Lang, who will pilot in-form New South Wales pacer Hexus, will be chasing his fourth title and his second in succession after steering Persistency to victory 12 months ago. His previous triumphs came aboard Riverlea Jack (1988) and Coco?s Dream (1996).

?

Hexus (placed fourth in 2003) and race favourite Sokyola (third), who quinellaed last Friday night?s VHRC Classic at Moonee Valley, are the only two horses returning from that 40th running of the prestigious Group One event.

?

Sokyola, the lone handicap runner off 20 metres, returns for the fourth consecutive year with connections hoping persistence pays off with the champ?s maiden Cup victory.

?

The field for the $100,000 Mallia Builders Kilmore Pacing Cup (Group 1), a standing start event over 3150 metres to be run at 3.54pm (AEST) on 24 October, is;
