Cup of Dreams; Nominations close this Wednesday for the 2015 New Zealand Trotting Cup.

Ever wondered what it would be like to beat the Kiwi’s?

Those unforgettable scenes when Australia has triumphed over its Trans-Tasman rival in prestigious sporting events like Rugby, Netball, Cricket and Rugby League among other sports.

Even the New Zealand Trotting Cup.

A race that Australian trained performers have won previously starting with the Norm Lang prepared Steel Jaw back in 1982 and followed by My Lightning Blue in 1987 for Jim O’Sullivan.

The Australian owned Flashing Red managed back to back Cup victories in 2006/07; the Tasmanian bred millionaire was raced by Queenslanders Stuart Hunter and Norm Jenkin.

Other Australian trained performers that have tackled the event in recent years include Cobbity Classic, Smoken Up, Karloo Mick, Be Good Johnny, Washakie, Caribbean Blaster, Suave Stuey Lombo, For A Reason and Seel N Print.

Well, make those dreams a reality and nominate for the 2015 Gr.1 $750,000 Christchurch Casino New Zealand Cup at Addington on November 10.

It’s the biggest racing event on the New Zealand calendar and the top pacers are chasing more than a $1 million in stakes this year with the Cup and the $250,000 Free For All on Show Day.

And the trotters are catered for with the Gr.1 $250,000 Hellers Dominion, a standing start feature staged over the marathon distance of 3200m, the same distance as the New Zealand Cup.

The Dominion is staged on Show Day, Friday, November 13th.

The initial nomination fee of $375 plus GST for the Group One $750,000 Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup is due this Wednesday 12 August at 3pm NZ time.

There is no early nomination fee for the Woodlands New Zealand Free For All.
