Orange Agent cruises to Crown heat win

Champion pacing filly The Orange Agent is off to the Breeders Crown after an easy heat win at Cambridge on Thursday night.

The multiple group one winner had to overcame a an early speed duel with Start Dreaming that saw the fillies pace the first 400m of their non-tote race in 26.1 seconds.

But once she wrested the lead The Orange Agent cruised to victory, guaranteeing her spot in the Breeders Crown semis at Ballarat on August 22.

Trainer Brian Hughes has indicated he will attempt to find a lead-up race in the north for The Orange Agent before she heads to Australia.

Runner-up Start Dreaming is likely to head to Victoria earlier to contest a Breeders Crown repechage.
