Harness Racing Australia (HRA) today received information that non compliant sulky may have been used in racing events in Victoria.
As a result, a meeting of the HRA Gear and Equipment Committee, comprising the Chairman of Stewards of each State, was convened. HRA recommended to the Gear and Equipment Committee that an investigation be commenced immediately.
Contact has been made with the manufacturer and this investigation has commenced.
If unsure about sulky requirements, participants are able to consult the HRA Sulky Standards here, or ask Stewards in your State.
Any sulkies that do not comply with the sulky standards cannot be used in any race or trial meeting.
Participants are reminded that all gear and equipment that is used in official racing and trials must conform to the standards that are published on the HRA website and that Stewards will continue to conduct checks to ensure that this is the case.
