Harness Racing Victoria's (HRV) is responsible for the control, development and promotion of the Victorian harness racing industry. The Chairman of Stewards is a senior role within the organisation that is responsible for overseeing the reputation and integrity of harness racing in Victoria. This role is accountable for the enforcement, administration, and modification of all rules of racing and manages a panel of Stewards who are responsible for all integrity related racing activities at over 450 harness race meetings per year.
To be the successful applicant for this role you will:
- Have a highly specialised technical understanding of the rules and policies of racing and the industry Code of Conduct gained over significant years experience and /or relevant qualifications.
- Demonstrate proven leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills with ability to coach and mentor staff.
- Be able to effectively mediate between conflicting parties and handle conflict situations with authority.
- Have ability to express ideas effectively in a clear, concise and open manner.
- Possess integrity, credibility and honesty.
