Changes to Head Numbers on Victorian tracks

Following consultation with the Stewards, Judges and participants the following policy will be in place from May 1, 2015:

Head numbers will no longer be required to be fitted as part of a horses gear except at the following tracks:

YARRA VALLEY

CRANBOURNE

SWAN HILL

At all other tracks head numbers will no longer be in use.

Country clubs are requested to return all their head numbers to HRV where they will be re-allocated to the three relevant clubs.

Raceday Stewards will strictly enforce the application of head numbers at the three remaining tracks as the photo-finish picture requires the increased identification due to the galloping track and the angle of the camera.
