Racing Queensland is the industry regulatory for Thoroughbred, Harness and Greyhound racing codes and is currently looking for a suitably qualified Handicapper for the Harness code. This position reports directly to the Racing Operations Manager for Harness & Greyhounds and undertakes handicapping, programming and racing office functions.
You will be responsible for:
- Handicapping of races in accordance with prescribed policies
- Maximise race field size & quality product through dates/calendar setting & programming
- Provide Racing Operations Manager with monthly statistical data for Board reports/consideration
- Ensuring the integrity of the sport’s handicapping is upheld
Selection Criteria
- Thorough knowledge of the racing industry
- Understanding of handicapping policies and procedures
- Sound knowledge of required computer systems
- Proficient in use of basic Microsoft programs
