Racing Queensland stages new fillies & mares Race Series

Racing Queensland will stage a new harness racing series, Girls on Track, in March which will promote women in racing and celebrate champions of the sport.

While all drivers and trainers are invited to take part in this newly created event, bonuses for females will be awarded during the series.

Queensland women of racing are strongly encouraged to participate and showcase their sporting talents while being rewarded with special bonuses for female drivers and trainers who are successful during the month-long series.

This inaugural event is part of a new tri-code series Girls on Track which is expected to become a regular on the racing calendar.

Details about the special race series are provided below:

Racing Queensland has programmed a race series restricted to fillies and mares which will culminate in a final at ALBION PARK on Friday 27 March 2015.

As an additional promotion on the night of the final at Albion Park, a Lady Driver’s Invitation Race will be staged.

Heats

1.    Friday  6 March                            Albion Park                 1660m                         $6,000

2.    Wednesday 11 March                  Redcliffe                     1780m                         $6,000

3.    Friday 20 March                           Albion Park                 1660m                         $6,000

 

SERIES CONDITIONS

Heats:  Open to all fillies and mares assessed C2+ & No better than Q0. Heats will not be divided.  Concession claims will not apply.

Series Final Race: For fillies & mares assessed C2+ & No better than Q0 that qualified from the heats conducted at Albion Park and Redcliffe. Race will not be divided.  No Allowances for Concession Drivers.

The first 3 placings from each heat will progress to the final. The fastest 4th placing on individual mile rate will fill the final position in the final.

All mares qualifying for the final are automatic acceptors for the final

Heats:             Friday March 6 Albion Park- Manual Field Selection Policy

                        Wednesday March 11 Redcliffe- Automatic Field Selection Policy

                        Friday March 20 Albion Park- Manual Field Selection Policy

TRAINERS BONUS

A trainers bonus of $1,000 will be payable to the female trainer who, after the final has been run, has accumulated the most points throughout the Series.

Heats’ Points Allocation: 1st – 10 Points, 2nd – 8 Points, 3rd – 7 Points, 4th – 6 Points,  5th – 5 Points, 6th – 4 Points, 7th – 3 Points, 8th – 2 Points and Others – 1 Point

Final Points Allocation:  1st – 20 Points, 2nd – 16 Points, 3rd – 14 Points, 4th – 12 Points,  5th – 10 Points, 6th – 8 Points, 7th – 6 Points, 8th – 4 Points and Others – 2 Points

To be eligible for the female trainer’s bonus, a stable return for the filly or mare must have been lodged by a female trainer 14 days prior to the heat in which it is nominated.

DRIVER BONUS

All races in the Series will be open to any driver (male or female).

A bonus of $1,000 payable to the female driver who, after the final has been run, has accumulated the most points throughout the Series.  The point allocation will be as follows:

Heats’ Points Allocation: 1st – 10 Points, 2nd – 8 Points, 3rd – 7 Points, 4th – 6 Points,  5th – 5 Points, 6th – 4 Points, 7th – 3 Points, 8th – 2 Points and others – 1 Point

Final Points Allocation:  1st – 20 Points, 2nd – 16 Points, 3rd – 14 Points, 4th – 12 Points,  5th – 10 Points, 6th – 8 Points, 7th – 6 Points, 8th – 4 Points and others – 2 Points

Lady Drivers Invitation Race

ALBION PARK, Friday 27 March 2015

                                    C2 to C3 1660metres PBD/C

                                    Plus: Trophy to winning driver

Drivers will be invited in the following order, until a full complement of drivers is accepted.

            1. Drivers holding an A grade licence

            2. Most wins in the current season

            3. Most lifetime wins
