In-form Stent will contest the second heat of the Great Southern Star on Saturday night.

THE barrier draws have been completed for Saturday night’s two Pryde’s Easifeed Great Southern Star elimination heats.

Both heats are worth $50,000 and carry Group 1 status with the first three horses over the line in the heats progressing to the $300,000 Group 1 Final, which will be Race 9 (10pm) on the program.

The remaining four places in the Final will be filled by the four fastest non-placegetters in the heats.

The two horses expected to head the betting charts this year are the same two which ran the quinella in the Great Southern Star 12 months ago, Keystone Del and Stent.

Keystone Del has drawn gate three in the first heat, while Stent will come out barrier six in the second.
