MEDIA RELEASE

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening animal welfare and racing integrity, HRSA wishes to formally announce the full time appointments of Chris Jasprizza and Aron Quinton to the staff at HRSA. Chris Jasprizza has been appointed as a Steward and Animal Welfare Officer at HRSA, and Aron Quinton has been appointed as a Cadet Steward.

Both roles will have an important focus in further bolstering HRSA’s commitment to animal welfare and also supporting existing integrity functions at HRSA. Importantly both of the appointees have a very strong interest and deep affinity with horses.

Chris is currently a Steward with Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW), and has been involved in racing integrity for 13 years.  Growing up in the Riverina region of NSW, Chris grew up in a racing family and was an accomplished junior equestrian show rider before embarking on a career as a Racing Steward. He commenced as a thoroughbred racing Steward in regional NSW in 2002, and was then employed by Racing Queensland for five years, before joining HRNSW in 2013. During that period he has officiated at a large number of harness racing meetings across NSW.

Aron Quinton also has a strong racing background coming from a racing family, and has been employed previously on a casual basis at harness race meetings undertaking integrity and animal welfare related tasks. Both will commence in their new roles in early March 2015.
