The leading trotting sires from North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be represented at the third Pryde’s EasiFeed Australasian Premier Trotting Sale to be held at Tabcorp Park Melton on Sunday, March 8, starting at 1pm.

The 46-lot catalogue boasts progeny of 17 different stallions.

Muscles Yankee, the five-time premier American sire, has a colt out of The Redwood winner Elusive Charm representing him, while his outstanding son Muscle Hill, the leading sire of two-year-olds in USA last year, also has a single entry, that being a colt from the six-win Pine Chip mare Calder Fury.

A further two sons of Muscles Yankee in Muscle Mass, a former world champion two-year-old, and Yankee Spider both have three entries. The Muscle Mass draft is headed up by a colt from the NSW Trotters Oaks winner Queen’s Rhapsody and a half-brother to the Tatlow winner Mister Castleton, while Yankee Spider’s three fillies are close relatives of Exuberant, Posimistic, Mister Castleton and Northsea Rover.

Angus Hall, one of America’s premier trotting sires for the last decade and the No 1 sire of two-year-old trotting winners in Australasia in 2013/14, has five lots in the sale. They include a colt from the Victoria Trotters Oaks winner Maori’s Dream and fillies out of the Breeders Crown runner-up Aldebaran Maori and the multiple Group placegetter Flaming Action.

New Zealand trotting colossus Sundon is represented by a colt from a half-sister to the Group 1 NZ winners King Charlie and Shezoneoftheboyz, while Pegasus Spur, third on the NZ Sires’ list last year, has a colt from an Andover Hall mare that ranks as a half-brother to the NSW classic winners Verbier and Val Gardena.

Skyvalley, Australia’s premier first-crop sire in 2013/14 and the current leading sire of three-year-old winners, and Bacardi Lindy, the sire of champion filly Claudy’s Princess, boast the largest drafts at the sale with 11 lots each.

Skyvalley’s entry includes youngsters out of the good racemares Countessa Hest, Aldebaranfavourite and Aldebaran Breeze, while the Bacardi Lindy contingent is highlighted by a brother to 2YO and 3YO Trotting filly of the Year Claudy’s Princess.

Eliean Donon, the Aldebaran Park studmate of Skyvalley and a Group winning sire in both hemispheres, has a single entry, a filly out of a Muscles Yankee mare from the family of Kyvalley Road.

Other sires represented are world champion Lawman, Fling It, the well performed half-brothers Armbro Invasion and Armbro Variable, local trotting heroes Kyvalley Blur and Tennotrump and Blitzthemcalder’s sire Metropolitan.
