MEDIA RELEASE

The two holiday race meetings held at Victor Harbor on Monday December 29 and Sunday 25 January were an outstanding success with excellent crowds, strong race race fields, and very good prizemoney levels. The success of both of these meetings was due to the pro-active stance of the new Committee under the leadership of Club stalwart and President Lew Parker and also Club Secretary, Tony Neale.

In December, and in collaboration with HRSA, the Club made the decision to increase prizemoney for its race meetings, and also made a commitment to improve the race day experience for customers. With attendances at each meeting in excess of 1,000 people, the hard work and commitment of the Victor Harbor Committee certainly paid off. Additionally, off course wagering interest in the December 29 race meeting was excellent, which once again justified the decision to increase prize money, and hence attract better race fields.

The next race meeting at Victor Harbor will be held on Sunday 22 February.
