Ongoing reviews by Harness Racing Australia (HRA) have determined that the Starlite Sulky has had a significant change that was not tested in accordance with the HRA sulky standard.
As a result, a meeting of the HRA Gear and Equipment Committee, comprising the Chairman of Stewards of each State, was convened and the non-conformance to the testing process was discussed.
The Committee considered the information provided by HRA as well as correspondence and other information provided by Starlite Sulkies representative, Mr. Glenn Mitchell.
It was determined that in the interests of all industry participants, the Starlite sulky approval be temporarily suspended, effective immediately - prohibiting the ordering, sale and delivery of such sulkies without the express written permission of HRA.
If unsure, participants are able to consult the HRA Sulky Standards here, or ask Stewards in your State.
Participants are reminded that all gear and equipment that is used in official racing and trials must conform to the standards that are published on the HRA website and that Stewards will continue to conduct checks to ensure that this is the case.
