The NSWSOA recently conducted its AGM and under its rules of Association half of the Committee were required to stand down and elections conducted to fill the vacancies. As a result the Committee members were re-elected and member Michael Brown was elected to fill a vacancy created by a previous resignation.

Election of office bearers took place and Peter Neil was re-elected as Chairman and Daniel Cordina re-elected as Vice Chairman. Members can be assured that this committee will continue to represent the interests of Owners in NSW in all matters relating to Harness Racing.

One of the tasks of the Committee is to nominate members for the role of Owner of the Month and the three nominations for November were: Shaun Snudden, Robert Allport and Golden Gait Stud Proprietors Wayne and Anne Lamb.

Shaun Snudden is a very successful owner/trainer based in the Riverina and during November he shared in the spoils of three individual winners, twice with The Brazen Jasper and once each with Barriettas Bliss and Modern Era.

Robert Allport is a long time owner and member and he was fortunate enough to win three races in November with handy performer Modern Dancer, twice at Canberra and once at Young.

Wayne and Anne Lamb have conducted Golden Gait Stud for as long as I can remember and have produced numerous high quality performers over this time. They don’t race many themselves but in this month they won three races with Last Flight Out, once at Bathurst and twice at Dubbo, so congratulations to our winners in November.

I would take the opportunity to advise all participants that the Association will be conducting an open forum at Penrith Paceway on Sunday, 18th January, at 1.00pm, in order to obtain feedback regarding the changes to the handicapping/programming system in NSW. I would refer everyone to the Notice in the Trotguide and on the NSWSOA website.
