SAHRC 2014 Committee Member Election

On the 20th of November 2014 the club was advised by the Australian Electoral
Commission (AEC) of the results for contested offices.

The total number of names on the roll of voters was 268. Of this 268 ballot papers issued
195 papers were received by the AEC, 3 were rejected at preliminary scrutiny and a
further 3 were rejected as informal. A total of 189 papers and a total of 756 votes were
tallied in the process.

In accordance with Rule 23.3 which states that the candidates receiving the greatest
number of votes shall be elected, applying this rule the returning officer, Jeanette Hill of
the AEC declared the following candidates elected.

Anne Mowday;
Darrel Bruce Evans;
Richards Miller;
Garnet Murray Evans;

These 4 committee members will join current members Richard Noble and Ray
Holberton to make up the 6 person committee.

On Tuesday the 25th of November the newly formed committee held their first meeting
to elect the club President and Vice President for the 2014-15 season. Richard Miller was
elected as President and Ray Holberton was elected Vice President.

I would like to congratulate Richard Miller and Ray Holberton on their positions as well
as congratulating Anne Mowday, Murray Evans & Bruce Evans on their election to the
SAHRC Committee and thank Dr Richard Noble for his continued support on the
committee.

The South Australian Harness Racing Club thanks all 9 candidates who took the time and
effort to nominate themselves for the available positions.
