Guaranteed is well fancied in Saturday night?s Coca Cola Sprint at Tabcorp Park Menangle.

The Victorian trained Guaranteed will return to Tabcorp Park Menangle for the first time since winning the Chariots Of Fire in March when he competes in Saturday night's Coca Cola Sprint. The five year old has raced seven times on the spacious 1400 metre circuit and has won on six occasions and driver Gavin Lang believes it is no fluke that he continues to perform well on the track.

"I think the beauty of Menangle is that it sorts out the men from the boys and that's why Guaranteed has had so much success there in the past," Lang said.

"There's nowhere to hide on the big track and if you have a weakness it finds you out but Saturday night will be the first time he has raced there in open company so it isn't going to be easy that's for sure."

Guaranteed's only defeat at Menangle came in the New South Wales Derby and coincidently that was the last time that Chris Alford drove the son of Artsplace in a race.

"I've driven a lot of good horses at different stages of their careers and I'm quite sure Guaranteed has the capabilities of being right up there with the best."

"The best recent comparison I guess would be with his stablemate Restrepo because he has won some very nice races and I think Guaranteed can achieve everything he has and probably more."

Lang admits the step to open company is a big one but is confident Guaranteed will handle the rise in intensity.

"His three runs back have all been in strong races and all have been good, I think there is always a transition period to becoming that benchmark horse."

"The Kilmore Cup win meant the most to me because it has always been a sort after race considering all of the good horses that have won it in the past."
