Jadahson and Nathan Jack win at Tabcorp Park Melton on Friday night.

Quirky things tend to happen at Halloween.

And sure enough at Tabcorp Park Melton on Friday night, many punters were left scratching their heads about numerous results.

It was a night of upsets with three winners at double-figure odds – two of them at cricket score prices.

Nathan Jack's followers had a ball, the brilliant reinsman booting home four winners.

Jack’s night of glory began in the second race, the Sheron Park Pace Final, with $1.50 favourite Call Me Bond, trained by Michael Hughes, scoring a 1.9-metre win over Jeans Mattjesty over the 2240-metre trip in a rate of 1:56.5.

Jack’s second winner was aboard Wayne Potter trained Sophies Ideal, which overcame a back-row draw to upstage her rivals in the Harness Breeders (Vic) Tailamade Lombo over 1720 metres.

The five-year-old mare by American Ideal out of Bring Her Back paid $58.90 on the tote, a knockout blow for favourite punters.

Tandias Bromac ran second, just over a metre behind the winner, while Glenferrie EJ – who found the lead early – finishing third. The favourite, Beauty Secret, ran fourth.

Jack made it three winners in Race 6 aboard Gary Quinlan trained Scruffy Major, who defeated the favourite, Jilliby Master, by 3.7 metres in the Maryborough Cup Sunday Pace over 1720 metres.

The son of Art Major/Magic Music clocked a mile rate of 1:54.6.

Completing Jack’s winning quartet for the night was Jadahson in the Farewell Adrian Ace Barlow Pace over 1720 metres.

Trained by the in-form Emma Stewart, Jadahson proved 2.5 metres too strong for Arber, who ran a much improved race for second, with Johnny Quid third in a mile rate of 1:53.9.

In a major upset, Jodi Quinlan trained and driven Lombo Flashlight paid $61.30 to win the TAB.com.au Pace over 2240 metres.

Despite drawing gate 13, the seven-year-old gelding, a son of Bettors Delight/Lombo Light Speed, upstaged two fellow outsiders – Brookfield Ruler, which was beaten a half-head in second place, and Narra Operative a further head away in third.

A $1 investment on the successful trifecta would have netted punters over $20,000.

Other winners for the night were the talented mare Bellas Delight for Kari Males and Greg Sugars, Mia Mosca for trainer/driver Chris Alford, Yeadan for Beau Tindale and Rodney Petroff, Jilliby Royal for Glen Craven, and Pride Of Sundon for Paul Campbell and Kerryn Manning.
