Beautide.
Wide barrier draws have been making it very tough for Inter Dominion winner Beautide since resuming from a spell. The recently crowned New South Wales Horse Of The Year has been competing in races this campaign that have had preferential barrier draws which has seen the son of Bettors Delight starting from wide gates. However with this Saturday night's Nick Robin Free For All a random barrier draw trainer James Rattray was hoping for better than gate nine.
"Yeah, the barrier draw hasn't been kind to Beautide again so hopefully a good barrier is just around the corner," said Rattray.
"He trialled last week and I was really happy with the way he went in the trial and he has pulled up well since so there are no excuses."
Rattray is yet to settle on his driving tactics but has confirmed he is considering taking a more aggressive approach this Saturday night at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
"I will analyse the race fully later on in the week, I went forward in the trial last week and he did everything I asked him to so that is definitely an option I have."
Since resuming from a spell Beautide has chased home Suave Stuey Lombo twice but the Shane Tritton trained gelding will not compete this weekend.
"Before the Miracle Mile I would like to give Beautide two runs, obviously this weekend is one of them and the other mostly likely will be the first Miracle Mile qualifier at Menangle."
Stablemate Devendra will also compete on Saturday night, but he too has drawn wide on the track.
"Yeah he drew barrier nine as well but Devendra is very versatile so I have a few options with him even from out there."
