April 2013 Miracle Mile winner Baby Bling has been retired.

Following a below par performance at Tabcorp Park Menangle last week connections were keen to get to the bottom of the problem.

Scans revealed that Baby Bling had a fracture to her pelvis, a similar injury that forced Hall of Fame pacer Mr Feelgood into retirement a few years ago.

Part owner Pete O’Shea said although it was disappointing not to have her at her best on the race track it was an exciting time as she transfers her career into motherhood.

“Our plans have been brought forward,” said O’Shea.

“We were planning to have a bit of fun on the track for one final season and then retire her but that has come 12 months early.

“We certainly can’t complain as she’s been a marvel and provided all of the connections some wonderful memories. The Miracle Mile was a bit of a surprise but one we will never forget.”

A now seven-year-old, Baby Bling will now take part in the current breeding season.

“There’s nothing confirmed at the moment but there is a strong suggestion she will be served by Art Major,” said O’Shea.
