From season 2014-15, Harness Racing Victoria will program races for Breeders Crown eligible horses assessed in the lower classes, outside of the Breeders Crown series, in a bid to provide further incentive for connections to register for the program.

Additionally, following a review and after consideration of stakeholder feedback the HRV board has approved the following changes to the Breeders Crown program.

  • From Breeders Crown Series 20 (2014-15 foals) stakes will be distributed more broadly based on the model of 50 per cent to the winner and then 22 per cent, 12 per cent, 6 per cent, 3 per cent and all others 1 per cent.

  • Consistent with the past two years, the Breeders Crown Semi-Finals to be held at a Victorian regional venue determined annually by HRV.

  • From 2015 the Breeders Crown Super Sunday will be run annually on the last Sunday of August as opposed to the second-last.
