Tandias Bromac and Chris Alford rack up another win at Tabcorp Park Melton.
Driver Chris Alford says the VHRSC Classic tomorrow night at Melton will be a big step up in class for flying mare Tandias Bromac but she deserves her shot at the race.
The Amanda Grieve trained five-year-old has won three of her last four starts, including a last-start 1:58.5 win over in-form Im Barney Rubble in an M2-M4 at Melton.
Alford, Tandias Bromac’s regular reinsman, said the daughter of Art Major would be thereabouts in the 2240-metre race, despite coming up against rising stars in Maximan and Bettor Rock On, and free-for-all stalwart Cold Major.
“It’s a good test for her but she’s racing very well,” Alford said.
“She won’t disgrace herself.”
Early race favourite Keayang Cullen was scratched this morning leaving Maximan a short-priced elect, but Alford said he would have preferred the Marg Lee star to line up in the race.
“Keayang Cullen would probably have kept them rolling up front,” he said.
“Tandias Bromac can come out of the gate good but against this kind of class she’s better driven a bit quieter, so it didn’t help that he got scratched.”
