Iam Mr Brightside, a graduate of the 2YO Trialling Sale at Tabcorp Park, Menangle, wins a Group event there.
CATALOGUES are now available for the annual Garrards 2YO Trialling Sale at Tabcorp Park, Menangle,
with individual trials from 8.30am on Sunday, December 7 - the day after the Treuer Memorial.
Some 50 quality lots, including, for the first time, three trotters, which will trial in succession in the middle of the program, have been assembled in the one catalogue.
Included in the draft are two-year-olds bred in each of the three Australian mainland States, as well as seven from expert New Zealand conditioner, Greg Payne, of Christchurch.
Australia's leading sire, Bettors Delight - sire of Miracle Mile and Inter Dominion champion, Beautide - heads the list of sires represented by progeny.
Other sires with one or more sales entrants include such big names as Always A Virgin, American Ideal, Artistic Fella, Courage Under Fire, Four Starzzz Shark, Grinfromeartoear, Mach Three, Mister Big, Presidential Ball, Rocknoll Hanover, Rock N Roll Heaven, Sportswriter and others.
There are yearlings from mares which have taken times as fast as 1:50.6, with four catalogued lots from mares which paced inside 1:57 and 13 of the consignment out of mares which took 2:00 personal bests.
Factor in two-year-olds out of mares by broodmare siring greats including world champion Artsplace, Beach Towel, Butler B G, Falcon Seelster, Holmes Hanover, In The Pocket, Mach Three, Panorama, Safely Kept, Troublemaker, Village Jasper, Walton Hanover and Western Terror, and it becomes evident why this sale traditionally boasts an impressive strike rate when it comes to outstanding winners.
In just three years, this sale has produced sub-1:52 winners, Group winners, $100,000-earning performers, Australasian record-holders and multiple metropolitan and feature winners.
Catalogued lots are well-staked, including eligibilities for such rich series as the Australasian Breeders' Crown, Australian Pacing Gold, Bathurst Gold Crown, Leeton Breeders Plate, New Zealand classics and Statewide series such as the New South Wales Breeders Challenge, QBred and Vicbred.
But you don't have to spend big to race for the big money - ask the Micallef family from Young, who last year paid just $1000 for a filly, now named Amanda Jay, which not only won in her first season as a two-year-old, more than repaying her purchase price, but also competed at Group level!
If that isn't enough reason to get there, only sales graduates are eligible to nominate for the Group Three $30,000 C.J. Garrard Classic at Tabcorp Park, Menangle, in August next year.
New South Wales Breeders Challenge Owners Bonus Certificates - unlimited by number - can be used for purchases at the sale.
Catalogues can be ordered on www.triallingsale@bigpond.com, while Sale Co-Ordinator John Coffey can be contacted on 0468 994 087.
A complimentary breakfast will take place from 7.30am on sale day.
