HRSA stewards inquired into comments made by Wayne Brodie on Facebook which referred to Harness Racing South Australia and its employees. Evidence was taken by telephone from Wayne Brodie.
Stewards issued the following charge:
Rule 248. A person shall not say, publish or write or cause to be said, published or written anything malicious, intimidatory or otherwise improper about the Controlling Body, its members and employees or the Stewards or anyone else associated with the harness racing industry.
The particulars being that Wayne Brodie published comments on Facebook on two occasions about the controlling body that were improper and used foul language.
Wayne Brodie was fined $2,000 with stewards directing that $1000 be suspended for 12 months on the condition that Wayne Brodie not re-offend under this or a similar rule in that period.
