Following a trial period of allowing a trainer to drive another horse in a race if a concession claim was used to make their own horse eligible to contest the same race, on September 21 the decision was made by the Chief Steward in consultation with the Racing Department to abandon this practice, effective immediately.
As such if a trainer has a horse engaged in a race they cannot take a drive on another horse in the same race with the only exception being a Drivers Invitation Series where invited drivers may be allocated by random ballot.
