Nominations will close tomorrow for Friday night’s Yirribee Stud meeting in Wagga.
There are five stallion services attached to races including one each to Million Dollar Cam for the owners of the winners of the $8000 Ian Walsh Memorial and Eric Chapman Memorial.
Two free services to Lombo Pocket Watch will also be won by owners, while another to first season recruit Caribbean Blaster is on offer.
The other feature race is the $8000 Lombo La Fe Fe Stakes for mares graded C1-C2.
It will be the first major meeting of the season in the region with the additional prize money a major attraction for owners and trainers.
Wagga Harness Racing Club chief executive Graeme White said Yirribee Stud night always attracted quality racing.
“The fields should be of high quality and quantity given what is on offer and also field sizes in the region have remained high which hasn’t always been the case at this time of the year,” he said.
Yirribee Stud boss Rod Woodhouse said he was pleased to support the night which honours the memory of co stud founder and former Wagga Harness Racing Club president Ian Walsh.
Million Dollar Cam is a much sought after stallion, while Caribbean Blaster’s arrival has created plenty of interest while Lombo Pocket Watch is a proven sire.
The former millionaire juvenile will back the race for fillies and mares named after former outstanding mare Lombo La Fe Fe.
“There are valuable bonuses for NSW bred foals and there has also been a lot of interest in the stallions for this time of the year,” Woodhouse said.
“The winners of the two $8000 races also receive a free service to Million Dollar Cam whose progeny have been winning a lot of races.”
