Harness Racing Australia (HRA), in conjunction with Harness Racing South Australia (HRSA), are delighted to announce the establishment of the Australian Driving Championship (ADC).

The inaugural Championship, designed to assemble Australia's best drivers in fierce competition with each other, will be held at Globe Derby Park, Adelaide on Saturday (night), 18 October 2014.

Twelve drivers, two nominated from each State Controlling Body, will compete for the title of Australian Driving Champion, accumulating points across the six race Series.

A real treat for harness racing fans, the Championship will not only promote the nation's best drivers, but provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents in a manner never before seen.

In addition to bragging rights, the Australian Champion will have their performance factored into the selection of Australia's representative to compete in the World Driving Championship - which is conducted every second year, the next in New South Wales in 2015.

A review of the inaugural event will determine its future, including rotation of venues and the governing rules.
