Inter Dominion winning trainer Darren Hancock.
Inter Dominion winning trainer Darren Hancock was very impressed with the performance of Teo Enteo at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night when he accounted for a talented field and believes he can continue to perform at the top level. The son of Armbro Operative will race again this Saturday night and despite a step up in distance from the mile to 2300 metres, Hancock is expecting another strong effort.
'He's a really nice horse, I won the Young Cup with him back in March and after that he was sent out for a good break," Hancock said.
"Wayne Potter gave him a few runs in Melbourne before sending him back to me here in Sydney."
Teo Enteo's biggest assets are his acceleration and speed and he showed both in Saturday night's win.
"I'd never really used him out of the gate, it looked a nice race to try and cross the horses inside me, I ended up three back on the pegs but came off down the back straight and ended up in the one-one."
"I don't think the extra distance this week is a worry at all as long as he gets the right trip, sitting in somewhere, he is such a lovely gaited horse you don't actually realise how fast you are going."
Hancock confirmed he is considering the better races coming up in the next three months.
"That is the plan at the moment, I will see how he goes in his next few starts but if he holds his form there is no reason that I wouldn't consider giving him a shot at a race like the Newcastle Mile."
Talented mare Vansumic returned to the trials at Menangle on Tuesday but is still a month away from resuming.
"I'm bringing her up slowly, she hasn't won a lot of money in her last few starts so I should find a nice race for her when she's ready to race."
