Zach Steenhuis produced a race-to-race double, Josh Aiken scored a couple of successes and trainer Ross Graham paired with top reinsman Daryl Douglas to snare a brace tonight at Bendigo.

Steenhuis piloted Goodtime Slater to victory for Elliminyt trainer Courtney Slater in Race 4 (the Staffordshire Park Pace over 2150 metres) at $6.80 before backing up half an hour later aboard Alf Steenhuis trained five-year-old gelding I Am Louie in Race 5 – the Springvale Stud Pace over 2150 metres – at odds of $5.90.

Graham took a team of six horses to the meeting and snared two winners, opening the program with short-priced favourite Four Lillies ($1.20) scoring a dashing success in the Evolve Accounting Solutions Trot over 2150 metres.

The four-year-old mare by Monkey Bones out of The Wallflower produced a 2:02.3 mile rate to prevail with  Douglas in the cart by 11 metres over Raceway Calder.

Graham and Douglas then combined to take out the sixth race, the Aldebaran Park Trotters Handicap over 2150 metres, with six-year-old Framework/Rainbow Billie gelding Jusamirel.

The 7.9-metre win was Jusamirel’s second victory on the trot. Tonight he rated 2:04.8.

Aiken won on Justa Dream Lombo in the third race for Ararat trainer Phillip Ralph before guiding 10-year-old gelding The Red Opal to a neck win in the Bendigo Octoberfest October 18th Pace over 1650 metres.

The Red Opal went 1:58.0 to overhaul race favourite Top Venue, who ran second.

Other winners tonight were Daddywho in the Petstock Pacers Handicap (Race 2) and Narra Operative in the last – the Bendigo Bank Pace.
